We have started to build our new extension it is going on the front of the bungalow. We bought the windows frame and doors before Christmas 2014 all for £400 from Ebay.
That was a bargain the doors alone would cost around £1500 and the nice man dismantled it for us we just had to pick it all up, Borrowed a truck from work it was only local in Rustington and took a couple of trips.
Some of the glass were heavy though and those double doors weighed a ton.
It was like a big jigsaw puzzle but we will sort it out. Where do we start then Yogi the Builder.
First we have to measure it out to dig out the footings this is the important part as it has to be the right size and depth. For this we will need to dig down a spit and a half deep by 10ft by 20ft.
what is a spit and a half ?
That is a spade and a half. 18 inch deep it will be 16 inch wide.
I like digging where do we start..
I am waked out that must be a ton of dirt we will need a skip.
I have ordered one from Rabbit skip hire it will be here soon then we will have to wheelbarrow it into the skip with all the broken concrete. Funny I always thought rabbits we have to chase.
I am worn out and my claws are sore. It’s alright for you Yogi all you have done is walk around with your tape measure and ball and get in the way.
I will order the bricks sand and cement next week then we can start to build the footings.
